Half a Tree
The Half a Tree series started with a very modest work I presented in Gross Gallery in Tel Aviv, as part of a group exhibition.
It was an A4 paper cut-out of the siluette of something I had seen in the street: Half a Tree.
This very real tree stands at the corner of Yehuda Halevi and Hashmonaim, next to a renovated international-style / Bauhaus building.
Half of its canopy is missing. It was cut off to keep it away from the balconies, or possibly to prevent thieves from climbing it.
As I looked around I realized there are many "half trees" in the city, and outside it.
The tension between wild nature and man-made landscapes is a tug war, and I'm really not sure who's winning.

When I moved out of the city, i found a new kind of trees: Trees in Service, and Covered Trees
